West Florida Historic Preservation, Inc. is committed to the preservation of the collection of historic buildings within the Historic Pensacola Village. Through the use of University of West Florida students and other volunteers, WFHPI conducts regular interpretative tours of the village.
Pensacola Historical Society is a membership organization founded in 1933 with the mission to promote and preserve Pensacola's history through publicly accessible research archives, cataloged collections, publications, and public education programs.
Pensacola Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to insuring that Pensacola remembers its past through education and preservation. The organization has preserved some of Pensacola’s most treasured historic sites such as the Dorr House, the Barkley House, and Seville Square by promoting hands-on efforts to teach the skills and sensitivities of historic preservation through adaptive use. The Pensacola Heritage Foundation also promotes city and community awareness and pride through events such as “Evenings in Old Seville Square,” a weekly concert series conducted during the summer in the Pensacola Historic District.
Pensacola Archaeological Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging public awareness of the threat to Pensacola’s historic sites. Established to educate the general public about the value of these sites, the society works with archaeologists, governmental officials, private citizens, and developers to protect and preserve Pensacola’s invaluable archaeological resources that contribute to a better understanding of the city’s rich cultural heritage. The PAS offers opportunities to participate in and learn about archaeology outside of the classroom environment. PAS volunteers regularly assist with UWF Archaeology Institute projects and get a “hands on” experience with many aspects of archaeological excavation and preservation. Also, lectures and presentations pertaining to archaeological work in Pensacola and surrounding areas are presented at each monthly meeting from September through June, providing fascinating and informative information about the work being done.
African American Heritage Society sponsors and participates in a variety of events aimed at promoting African American history, tradition, and customs, including a black-history recital and concert at the University of West Florida, arts and cultural events, lectures, and a special black-history luncheon held at Pensacola Naval Air Station.
North Hill Preservation Association is a neighborhood organization dedicated to preserving the historical integrity of one of Pensacola’s oldest neighborhoods and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
