Human Relations Commission

PENSACOLA-ESCAMBIA HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION

The Human Relations Commission seeks to maintain positive human relations in Escambia County through resolution of civil rights related cases and incidents. It also administers the City's fair housing ordinance. The Commission is composed of nine members. Four (4) members appointed by City Council; Four (4) members appointed by Escambia County Board of Commissioners; and one member appointed by the other eight (8) members.

At this time one (1) position requires appointment by City Council to fill an unexpired term (expiring September 30, 2011). Members are not required to be City residents. Term of office is two (2) years. Regular meetings are held monthly on the first Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. at the HRC office.
